CHANGSHA, July 29 (Xinhua) — The dike breach in a section of the Juanshui River in Huashi Township of the city of Xiangtan, central China’s Hunan Province, was successfully sealed around 3 p.m. on Monday, according to the city’s flood control and drought relief headquarters.
The water level at the Huashi hydrological station on the Juanshui River has fallen below the warning level, and affected residents can return to their homes after disinfection in the flooded areas of Longtan Village and Heping Village.
The dike breach occurred on Sunday night. ■
